This is a video of a group of people constructively criticising my 'The Machinist trailer pitch' They were analysing the use of sound, editing,the conventions of film noir and Plot.
For sound the comments were:
- The soundtrack fitted in well with the clips, the music is mysterious which fits well.
- Create my own soundtrack, also make the sound more film noir esc
- The increase of editing pace created suspense
- Show some more transactions to make it look smoother
- Good lighting, Showed obvious floor in the hero, didnt sugest a good ending, smoking,danger
- No element of red or femme fatale
- Very little given away, which is key in a trailer
- Less stills should be used use more concentrated sections of the film.
